About Linda

Meet Linda Budge

Linda Budge is one of three original members of the Rancho Cordova City Council and has served three times as Mayor: in 2004, 2008, and 2013. Now in her third term, she continues to be the only woman on the City Council. She has resided in the Sacramento area for 45 years and been involved in almost all aspects of community life in the Rancho Cordova area. She and her husband, Lee Garrison, a retired civil engineer, share five children and fourteen grandchildren.

She is well known as an active community participant, beginning with volunteer work and a television program at KVIE in the early 70's. She has held elective and appointed office since 1978, including three terms on the Cordova Recreation and Park District Board; five years on CORPAC, where she chaired for three of those years; and, for over 18 years, chaired the Sacramento County Subdivision Review Committee, which hears all the parcel maps and subdivision maps in the County.

During her years on CORPAC, she lead the advisory council through the preparation of the first Community Plan for Rancho Cordova and, 25 years later, served as the chair of the Steering Committee for the Rancho Cordova Community Plan Update, pulling together various committees, citizens groups, and local organizations to design a vision to guide community development for the next decade.
As a member of the Board of Directors of the Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce, she chaired the Cordova Commercial Revitalization Project (CCRP). She is a past Chamber President and Volunteer of the Year. She has also been President of Cordova Community Council, saved the historic Mills Station building for its new life as a community center at the Mather Field Mills Station, and served two years as an appointee to the Sacramento County Fire Protection District Board.
Professionally, Ms. Budge is the owner of Geometra Planning & Permitting, a full service planning and permit processing firm. As a consulting planner, she handles rezones and use permits, and has processed commercial building permits all over the United States.
She participates in the US Conference of Mayors, the National League of Cities and the CA League of Cities, and represents Rancho Cordova on the Regional Transit and Public Library Authority Boards, among others. Committed to continuing education for all, she is a 2011 graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government Executive Education program. Implementing her vision for Rancho Cordova’s future, she continues to provide leadership in the City’s priority areas of economic development, sustainable land use planning, customer service, and providing housing for the thousands of people who work in Rancho Cordova’s business districts.
